The Baseball Dream List

Travel Man and I have a dream list item in common.  We both want to travel this great US of A and see a baseball game played in every major league stadium.   Our hometown team is the Anaheim Angels, and if we had the opportunity we’d follow the Angels around the country for an entire baseball season.  That would be in our dream cloud of course.

Last month we took a vacation to New York City and got to see the Yankees play the Boston Red Sox.  A great baseball rivalry.  We had a wild taxi ride to the stadium, as we were running a little late.  We had taken a day long tour of the city that day, and then headed straight to the stadium. Of course there was a downpour when we got there, and we purchased some wonderful dollar store ponchos for a price that we will not mention here.

We entered the stadium from gate 4 I believe, and I was completely mesmerized.  There are banners of the former Yankee greats lining one wall of the stadium.  Names like;   Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra and Roger Maris to name a few.  Such rich baseball history just in those pictures alone.

Once we made it to our seats, and got to take in the sights and sounds we could not believe we were actually sitting there watching the Yankees playing the Red Sox.  We had to pinch each other a few times to be sure it was real.  The crowd is always completely engaged in the game.  Great music between batters, lots of chants and cheering.  Plus a Yankees fan a couple of rows in front of us shouting, “Boston sucks”.

The bonus for the night was when Derek Jeter made history with his 250th career home run.  Spectacular.  Yankee Stadium, Derek Jeter makes history, Yankee souvenirs purchased for the grandson.  All in all a great, great experience.  It will be interesting  to see which stadium we end up at next season.  This may become a new summer tradition for Travel Man and I.

Are you a fan of baseball?   What’s your favorite stadium to visit?

How do you Charge your Electronics?

What’s the best way to take control of all of the electronics being charged in your house?

I’m a fairly organized person.  I prefer to have things in order, and put away as much as possible.  But here is my current dilemma, there are chargers everywhere in our house.  I have tried and tried to corral the cords, but they always end up back in their own little corners.  Near a chair here, or a table there.  For our house, The Party House that is, we have a never-ending stream of cords, especially in the living room.

Chargers for phones, chargers for netbooks, chargers for headphones (this a travel man thing), chargers for kindles, chargers for camera batteries.  Yes,  we do have a lot of electronic devices.  Remember,  I live with Travel Man, and he’s a “road warrior”, so he has a lot of gadgets.  I had been asking him what we can do to get the cords under control.  So our first solution has been to try  this:

A big charging station in my office, which is closest to the living room by the way.  This has definitely helped the situation.  But, when Travel Man comes home from a trip the chargers and cords multiply by leaps and bounds!  We have quite a few phones in the family that all use a similar charger.  I thought with my charging station some of the straggling chargers in the house would disappear and everyone could just use my office charging station.  The chargers around the house have diminished slightly, but not as much as I had hoped.

Oh,  and how many of you use your cell phone for an alarm clock too?  So that means you have to be able to charge your phone next to your bed.  Another cord!  See what I mean.  It’s getting almost to the level of the Tupperware dilemma.  You know how you have that one piece of Tupperware that you can’t find the lid for, or you have a lot of lids and no bowl.  It’s like they duplicate themselves when you are not looking!

If you have any suggestions for taking control of the “charging” dilemma please leave me a comment and let me know how you’re handling this situation.  Maybe it’s not a dilemma for you, I’d love to hear from you.

A Little Vacation

Hello friends and neighbors. Travel Man and I are taking a vacation together for the rest of the week. We’ll also be celebrating our tenth anniversary. Wow! Time does fly when you’re having an adventure. I’ll be back with my blogging stories next week. In the meantime I’ll be taking a little break from the electronics too. Everyone enjoy a wonderful weekend.

I Almost Forgot My Anniversary!

Photo credit-Microsoft Word_ClipArtHello friends and blogging neighbors.  I cannot believe it is the first anniversary of Renee’s Revelings.  My how time flies!  Raise your hand if you thought I forgot my wedding anniversary.  One year ago today I published my first blog post.  You can read my first post here, about our old family dining room table.

I have had an amazing year discovering that I enjoy writing and sharing my life stories and experiences.  I have also learned a lot about the world of blogging.  It’s been wonderful getting to know each and everyone one of you.  And I finally have had an outlet to share our family story about the kids and their chronic conditions.  In my heart of hearts I have always wanted to share our story, because I know there is someone out there going through what we have gone through.  And I know that our story will let that someone know that they are going to be ok.  And I always remember what my Mom used to tell me, “No matter how terrible you think your problems are, there’s someone else out there going through something worse that you are.”  Those words always kept me positive and humble.  Thanks Mom.

I’m looking forward to continuing to share recipes, DIY projects, family stories, Evanisms, Travel Man tales, and tales of my own.  Thanks to all of my followers for your wonderful comments and words of encouragement.  Cheers to all of you.  Have a great weeke

A Rose is a Rose is a Rose

What’s in a name?  That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet. ~ William Shakespeare

This rose is in my little rose garden next to our back patio.  The kids gave me this rose-bush for a Mother’s Day present a few years ago.  It has the loveliest colors, and I thought it would be nice to start off your Tuesday with some loveliness.

I have been trying my hand at photography once again.  It’s been a long time since I’ve taken pictures like this just for fun.  I was shooting with Travel Man’s Canon G12.  Lots of fun to be learning again!

Do you have any hobbies you’ve gotten away from?  what’s keeping you from getting back to them?
